A subdued American flag cut from solid wood where every stripe is a shelf. Coins stand in the grooves between the stripes — around forty of them across the whole flag, more if you double them up. The union is carved black with raised stars and the chief's fouled anchor through the middle. The light stripes are torched with a torch rather than stained, so the grain burns dark in the soft parts and stays pale in the hard ones and no two flags come out the same. Your surname is cut into the lower stripes. About 24 by 13 inches and roughly two inches deep, which is what gives the shelves enough lip to hold a coin at an angle.
