A subdued flag with a single red stripe running through it, built so every stripe is a shelf. Coins stand in the grooves — comfortably forty across the flag, and the lower shelves are deep enough to take a knife or a folded patch alongside them. Fifty carved stars in a blacked union, torched pine stripes in between, and your surname cut into the bottom field. The torching is done by hand with a torch, so the grain burns dark in the soft growth and pale in the hard and every flag comes out differently. About 24 by 13 inches, two inches deep.
